Ignore all negative reviews. This control works perfectly. Installed a new fan last weekend, hooked up the receiver that came with this wall control, plugged in that wall control, then hooked up two additional handheld remotes and everything works exactly as it should. The negative feedback comes from people who either don't understand how it's supposed to work, or don't understand that this system is intended for fans that don't include remote controls (AC motor fans don't include remote controls, fans with DC motors). including remote controls) or by people who don't want to do the real work of adding this controller and receiver to their fan. Pros: It comes pre-paired, you don't need to set any dip switches to pair it, it has a blue LED that flashes when you press a button to let you know a signal has been sent to the fan, it has an elegant look to it. voltage converter and only use AC power (but other reviewers say batteries last for years) included instructions are easy / you'll have to go online for details.
