I love Ralph Lauren cotton duvets and they won't disappoint. It's the ideal weight - not as light and flimsy as some of the cheaper ones and not too heavy. This is the perfect summer duvet with all the Ralph Lauren qualities. It is soft to the touch and won't shrink when washed in cold water and dried according to the directions. Some reviews said it fills the dryer's lint filter with lint as you dry it, but isn't that what all new high quality cotton blankets do? Some also mentioned the terrible smell of the ceiling. That's right. I aired the duvet but the smell stayed so I washed it and the smell went away. The smell comes from the ziplock plastic bag that the blanket is in. I have never had such an unpleasant and strong smell from a plastic bag with a zipper. The solution is to just toss the bag in the trash.
