Review on Athletico Padded Golf Travel Bag by Russ Charmin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money. but durability and protection is so-so.

This bag for the price is one of the most affordable holdalls you will find. Having said that, I have to say I sent it back before use because I simply felt the case wasn't padded enough to protect my clubs from baggage handlers and the airport conveyor belt. If you have less expensive racquets or just want them to stay in place and not scratch, this might work for you. I don't travel to golf that often so I don't need a suitcase which costs 3-4 times as much. . But having one of these on hand when you need it is a good idea because when you're flying clubs there really isn't much choice but one of these. I ended up buying another suitcase with more padding and wheels for which I paid a little over double what I paid for this suitcase. In a pinch or if you need it for a trip or two the price is fantastic. When you buy this for frequent travel, you know you get what you pay for. When the box arrives it measures about 1.5 square feet which should show how soft it is when fitting in such a small box. You can see in my photo that the top part where the clubheads are can be folded when buttoned up. Imagine if someone dropped it on their head. not much protection for clubs that are worth a few hundred bucks each! The rings connecting the shoulder strap and the stitching on the handles don't look like they were built to last. You can see what I mean by stitching in my picture. My leather holdall, racquet, shoes and balls weigh about 40 pounds. So I can't imagine these grips being able to support that kind of weight over and over again. This is especially true because the bag does not have wheels and therefore needs to be carried or towed. with wheels were simply necessary for trips to parking lots and airports. This is especially important as this bag's material is flimsy, so it's likely to tear if you drag it up a flight of stairs or across a parking lot. If you're going on a trip and you're in dire need of a bag, this will likely work. for you based on what others have said. However, if you think you'll be using this bag again and again to protect your racquets while traveling, you may be disappointed.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • No performance
