In general, I really like these socks, with one caveat. Height. One soldier's reviewer noted that they were large enough for 8-inch combat boots. He or I must have taken different socks, or he has really small feet and pulls his heel up to his ankle, or these aren't 8 inch boots. I'm a size 9 1/2 x wide and I have true 6 inch boots and they barely fit to the top. After a few hours they slide down a bit, which is normal of course, and end up under the top of my boots. Stretched taut without shoes, they reach less than 7 inches off the ground. I really wish they were an inch taller... A week later I put them on, washed all 4 pairs and put them back on. I can honestly say that although they are a bit short I will continue to wear them. Comfortable, dry enough considering I live in South Florida, and good quality. Worth the price.
