I had high hopes that this would replace my Bodum Bistro coffee maker but. This thing wasn't very fun to assemble and felt like I was assembling a poorly designed LEGO product. The filter and drip components felt light and thin. The droplet reduction slider didn't stop at the middle selection, so it was either full flow or nothing. After going through 2 water cycles just to clean, I noticed water pooling outside of the filter component. Droplets fell from all sides of the thermograph. When I ran 12 oz. dark roasted coffee through this machine, the coffee is filtered in about 8 minutes through the supplied paper filter. The coffee was very weak and looking at the set it seemed to have pooled around the filter and traveled to the top, indicating the drip hadn't actually spilled over. The next day, the metal water spray arm was still wet and holding water, which would inevitably be a problem. The decanter doesn't have a proper spout and the lid allows heat to escape unless switched to a travel lid. Overall, this is just one example of overthinking and overengineering a relatively simple process. I sent this car back the next day and ordered another Bodum Bistro for less than half the price of this mess.
