Typical Chinese Ball/Paper Lanterns at a Great Price! They're great for LED lighting because LEDs typically only get up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit compared to incandescent bulbs at around 320 degrees Fahrenheit. I used them for video friendly lighting on a camping music stage at a music festival using 12V MR16 5W replacement bulbs. For video, porcelain spheres have wonderfully diffused light. That even if you shoot directly into the light with a video camera or phone, the lens will not turn off and everything will not go dark. Anyway they worked great, I bought the LEDs and connectors here on Amazon and hooked them up to a low voltage terminal block in the garden. Cable connectors that are clamped to the zipper/lamp cable. See the result in the picture: the solar generator battery is discharged in the middle of the field!
