Simply put, these cameras do more than basic Arlo cameras and are half the price. Notable differences:* They pan, rotate and zoom* They have two-way audio/mic* They have active motion detection with detection zones to eliminate false alarms* Your cloud subscription supports more cameras for less money* No base required , so if you have a mesh wireless connection (like Google WiFi) you'll have better range too. A downside is that they are obviously cheaper. I dropped one and reassembled it, but the panning doesn't work anymore. The Arlo is sturdier but doesn't offer these features, so nothing can break. I highly recommend this system. I also strongly recommend that you buy a mesh WiFi system for your home.
