Review on πŸ”† HIKARI 2022 HyperStar H11/H8/H9 Wireless LED Bulbs - 20000LM, Halogen Upgrade, 150W Equivalent, Enhanced Driving Vision, 6000K White IP68, H16 Foglight by Erick Hernandez

Bright but bleeds profusely through the headlight reflector.

I have Acme X and Hikari Ultra bulbs (several sets of Ultra bulbs) and both are great. But I had to make some sacrifices to be able to remove the external driver. Ultra lamps mimic a traditional halogen lamp perfectly, so the radiation pattern is exactly as it should be when using a brighter halogen lamp. However, since there are fewer LED chips, you need to run the bulb at a lower voltage than the 12 volts your car produces. To solve this problem, Hikari doubled the number of chips on the lamp so it could draw 12 volts. no diode breakdown. But the problem is that you now have a thicker 'thread', so to speak. That way you change the characteristics of the radiation pattern a bit, because you know how the light comes from a point inside the housing and not where it comes from on a halogen lamp. Hikari advertises this as "broader light". The problem, however, is that some of that stray light also bleeds above and below the original beam pattern, so it's not as sharp as it was on the drain. It's a bit more annoying for other drivers and to compensate I had to turn the lights down a lot more than usual to keep the high beams from flashing at me. They are bright. They are of good quality. However, light output loss is very small compared to Ultra due to loss in beam pattern. Although they would probably be amazing long range beams.
