Gadget at the best price at Amazon

If you are new to soldering this is a very good and inexpensive way to get started. Unlike other models in this price range, it has a very large bowl (boiler) and has 300 watts instead of the typical 150, allowing for faster melt times and more storage. With just a temperature control and an on/off switch, it's easy to use and can melt a pound of lead-free solder in about 5 minutes. What I really like is that the coating is very good and its non-stick properties are great, so you can easily take out the soldering stick and after it cools down, just flip it over to thermoplastic or another material. The only thing I want to warn about. potential buyers that the general heat protection of the body is not great, so it will heat up the body and the area around it, so be careful to keep it away from flammable or fusible objects. I melted a piece of wire that ran underneath. I didn't notice that the first time. A word about the wise. and this applies to all solders. They will smoke like a chimney once the flux has been added to the mix, so be prepared to use it in a well-ventilated area if you're trying to melt the rosin solder or add the flux to the mix and you set off the smoke alarms .

Pros
  • Good for melting solder, plastic, resin and more
Cons
  • Not bad but...
