I run 25 to 40 miles a week. I ran 19 miles in these shoes. The design of these shoes differs from the ones I've worn in that the upper is thin and uncomfortable near the heel. In fact, in that sense, these shoes are different than almost any athletic shoe I've ever worn. My guess is that Brooks does this for weight loss. However, due to this unique design, the shoe rubs on my ankle in the Achilles tendon area. I have never experienced that with any other shoe. I wear normal running socks (Asics, Saucony, Balega) that are cut just above the heel. So if I want to keep walking in these shoes, I have to wear bigger socks that go higher at the ankles.
