I have trouble wearing a helmet and have always used a portable shield. After securing my favorite shield, I took a chance on that too. It's sturdy and I've dropped it on the floor a few times and it took it well. The lens has a clear plastic cover to protect against scratches and spark burns and is a standard size so you can purchase it at your local welding supply store. You can take it with both hands and it is very light and easy to use.
