Okay, but the legs are wobbly and setting it up is a very easy task.

Updated: 03-2010 Still works well. When I tore my Achilles tendon, I leaned on it like a stick to help myself get up while I organized my clothes in the closet. This is a very easy mode of operation (rather cheap), but if you work carefully with it, it's easy and works well. When I took the device out of the box I was amazed by its features, but I was put off by the way each joint of the leg flexes and moves. It was really cheap. After a few weeks of use I got used to it. The light weight means I can take it with me because it's very light. My other tripod is also plastic and aluminum, probably weighs three times as much as this one, and it's such a chore that I have to put it away! PROS: Lightweight, so easy to carry. Compact. Good height - not limited to 40" like some tripods. You get two heads making it easy to shift forward and reverse. Central locking: I use this tripod to mount auto shop lights when I'm working on my motorcycle. The Tripod legs can get in the way. The lock allows you to retract the legs to make the tripod taller, but the legs on the three legs are closer together. Turning the screw then locks them in place! Great feature. Levels are a handy little Extra feature CONS: Very light and cheap construction The quality of the moving/sliding parts could be improved without adding weight or cost and plastic could still be used But we live in the real world and only what is on the shelf stands and makes the most of it. Legs tremble at every joint where hose extends. Feels like it needs tightening but there is n nothing to consolidate. Of all the tripods I've ever used, this is the first. Although everything I've ever used weighs more too. I've seen a similar machine bracketed (but not taken out of the box to inspect) for $4 more. I'd rather buy something you can touch and hold and easily return from a store like this, but many stores have outrageous prices for all that junk - about $40 on average! It fits my Sony Hi8 full size camcorder/analogue. a VCR that practically destroyed a block on the city's autodrome. However, tilt and pan operations will not be very smooth.
