A few months later I'm still happy with this monopod.

The tall and solid construction of this monopod is better than others I've used. The version I chose has a carbon fiber finish which gives it an impressive look. The head easily competes with other oil heads, although I don't really like the uni-directional triggering while others have faster bi-directional triggering. The long legs give this monopod some serious stability, allowing me to remove my hands in time if needed without fear of it collapsing.

Light but strong and slim this monopod is worth it

My main tripod is a large Manfroto but I wanted something portable for travel or anyway fast shooting . It had to be strong enough to carry my Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4k camera and accessories, yet light enough to attach to my camera bag. This Cayer monopod was exactly what I was looking for. Weighing just 4 pounds, it's surprisingly durable. Quick-release fasteners make assembly easier. Best of all, the liquid head is very smooth and even rivals my much more expensive Manfroto tripod. Great…

Falls apart on monopods

Be careful when taking off. Don't just unclip the leg extensions and drop them. I did this and two legs separated. Without my friend I would never have noticed the two pieces sticking out from under the legs and would not have been able to fix them. My friend and I spent 30 minutes figuring out how to put them together. I undo all the locks on both of my tripods and leave them unlocked at all times. This has never happened to them. Otherwise nice and fluid with pans and the like. It's also…

YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS MONOPOD FOR THE PRICE

Okay my experience, I'm a master photographer/videographer. I photograph about 50-60 weddings a year. I have $500 Sirui monopods, they fail after a season, screws loosen, heads start squeaking, sections start closing due to carbon fiber twisting and I have to take the FNG apart. So I decided to try this one hey for 1/3 the price I should have tried. I have understood. First the head was NOT the same as the Manfrotto records. for me it was a deal breaker. I emailed Cayer CS and a few hours later

Great monopod/tripod for the money

This is a relatively light, very easy to use monopod that doubles as a decent tripod and looks exceptionally good. I say "decent tripod" because while three legs (about 10 inches or so each) provide a solid base, a stand is of course less stable than an actual tripod. A very nice feature is the ball joint that attaches the monopod to the base/legs - this allows you to tilt the three legs and then align the monopod vertically, which is necessary for stability in this case. And it comes with an…

Gets a little wobbly the higher you lift it.

LOVE the fluid head on this thing. It's amazing and very comfortable. While the monopod itself is very well built, ultra light and works exactly as advertised, I did not find it to be as stable as I was hoping with my BMPCC4k setup. Since this camera doesn't have internal stabilization, any monopod or tripod I use for this needs to be very stable as every little wobble is noticeable. The first time I used it was to photograph a wedding and I had a stabilized lens, but every time I moved it…

  • Quality construction

  • Requires an outlet
