On my scales I am 1.2 pounds heavier holding this poncho vs. just me. I was surprised because I would have guessed closer to 2 pounds. The description says 11 oz .or about half the weight that my item weighed. Granted, there could be some error factor in my digital scale, but that's how it read out. For $20 it might be fine as a backup for rainy days at the cabin or perhaps a giveaway rather than returning it, but I cannot say I am happy with the product, because I wanted something light that also was pretty tough. This is too much to carry around in my fishing vest all day just in case it might start raining. My rain jackets weight about the same, so nothing gained by substituting the poncho. I will be looking for another product.
