This monopod has been a soldier on the soccer field for the last 3 years and took photos during my kid's big soccer games every week. It's lightweight and durable without the expense of carbon fiber. I'm using a Sony a77ii with a Sigma 70-200 F2.8 lens on this pup and it turned out to be pretty stiff. Definitely recommended as an inexpensive all-round monopod for amateur sports photography and general use. Get a good ball head with a steel/metal ball and stem - I originally had a Giottos MH 1004 with a plastic ball when I bought this monopod, but it's worn out and won't spin. I just got a new ball head from Gosky with a metal ball which hopefully will last longer. The carrying case isn't long enough to zip up with the ballhead attached, but it's a nice addition to protect the monopod from dirt and the elements and to carry over my shoulders when I'm not carrying my camera bag, which I usually attach it to.
