I've spent a fortune trying to find a replacement for my old traditional open litter box! I tried Pet Zone (2 stars) because it didn't do well, Petco "So Phresh" (1 star) because it's ridiculous, and Petree (5 stars). I can't say enough good things about him. EXCEPT... after the first few days my 18 lb cat stopped using it! Don't ask me where he peed this week... At first I thought he just doesn't need to go, but after the third day the bin was still empty and he didn't look sick. To this day we do not know where he found another "latrine” in the house. I'm desperate! Petree is the most efficient and user-friendly tablet I have ever seen. Yes, it's expensive, but it works beautifully. After it goes through its cycle, you'll never know it had a cat in it. There are no lumps or residue. The mat is completely dry and smooth. However, I did notice the smell until I realized I hadn't removed the deodorant gel's plastic cap. My mitty must have felt trapped or had trouble turning to get out. I don't know, but this is the most efficient toilet system I've ever seen! I would give 10 stars if I could!
