Well I was taken aback because I was expecting it to be the same as the brown and black rolled edge protectors I bought for other furniture in the house to show my son off to protect against injuries. itself and it is much thinner. It's like the width of my pinky, not my two thumbs together, and that's how I would describe a black reel and a brown reel, possibly from another company I don't know. Anyway I've used this for a few things like the edges of walls before and it's pretty good, it seems to work, it sticks to textured walls which is great because when you do that you don't think what it would be, and there's not much we can do about those popcorn walls that came with this house we live in. I also placed it around the perimeter of the round table and it stuck really well, I would only recommend measuring and cutting rather than pulling the tape and sliding it lengthwise and then cutting. Also, I used the same process here as I did with the black material, meaning you don't have to stretch and pull as you walk, you just need to peel off the tape and press firmly when you want it to be properly measured and not pulled back. I'll update this review if my son touches either the wall or table edge again and let you know if it was really affective or if I need to buy a new one in black or brown.
