Appears to be very strong yet flexible. For purposes that others have used, such as For example protecting the edges of a glass table from children or protecting the edges of furniture I think this would be ideal. Haven't installed it yet as I really wanted something to protect the side of the new fridge from the edge of the countertop. I was looking for something softer but not lathering or absorbent. When I installed it, the material was soft and pliable - it didn't curl at all.
