In the mid 90's when I was in college I bought my first digital multimeter from Radio Shack for $60. It has no auto shut off and uses 6 AA batteries :[. I've used a couple of fancy and cheap DMMs (Fluke, BK Precision, and the inexpensive one from Harbor Freight) at work for over 20 years. I was surprised to see that Revain offers inexpensive DMMs with many new features. So I tried the TRMS 6000 for $30. Outstanding characteristics: red color (easy to find); backlight (it is convenient to work in the dark); automatic detection of AC and DC current (don't worry about choosing the right type of current when measuring current / voltage); There is no need to press the FUNC key to switch to continuity testing; Green LED indicators. Not good enough: only one decimal place when measuring ohms (need 2 decimal places in my work, EE); NCV Live was triggered when I waved my hand over the sensor at the top, causing confusion. When comparing the voltage readings to other DMMs at work, I found that they were nearly identical. I measured a 9V battery using a BK Precision DMM and this DMM. BK Precision showed 9.096 V (3 decimal places). This showed 9.09 V (2 decimal places). I haven't used all the functions yet. I'll update when I see other pros and cons. For the price I paid this is a really cool DMM. Note. If you want something smaller (with fewer features) that's easier to carry, go for the TRMS 4000. I've found that KAIWEETS has almost the same DMMs as the AstroAI (4000 and 6000). models) in black. I'm just wondering if they were all made by the same manufacturer and sold to two different sellers.
