Revainrating 4 out of 5

Unrivaled board at 220; a reasonable option priced at 250

Competition in this price category. Premium build quality, high quality VRM/Mosfet, chipset fan that can handle heavy loads but runs silently below 70-80% speed, almost comically absurd amount of front and rear I/O support (one of the biggest advantages, to be honest). of this phone devices - that almost no case on the market supports ALL front inputs, but the Define 7 Compact comes close enough for me). It even comes with removable heatsinks for both m2 slots, complete with silicone thermal pads to ensure good thermal contact. Minor issues: PCIe 1 slot closest to the adhesive is hard to reach; SATA ports can also be a little fiddly and may require removing the GPU to add more; The sysfan slots on the bottom of the case are slightly intrusive and will likely require extension cords or similar for perfect cable management. ez post leds could show more pattern codes or colors or whatever to be a bit more informative and a clear distinction between "Waiting for this component" and "This component is not working!" It would be nice just clear to say whether the pre-flashed BIOS supports zen3 or not, rather than forcing you to look it up yourself and confirm that the latest BIOS released BEFORE the new CPU already supports it. x570s series to choose from. I still think it's a competitive option, but it will come down to how much you value what it offers (built-in Wi-Fi6 and Bluetooth 5.1, lots of fast USBs, etc.) rather than the features of competing boards. what, combined with the price, which is now fairly stable at 250 instead of 220: MSI Dragon Center is one of the worst programs I've ever used with displeasure. I recommend removing all components except Mystic Lighting (if you're interested in RGB) and using other third-party tools or BIOS settings for anything else it's aimed at. RRP. At 250, 4s seem justified. That said, if you want lots of fast USB and don't mind picking a board based primarily on the supported I/O edge, this is a solid product. And its thermal performance seems excellent, a huge improvement over recent AMD Tomahawks and a worthy resemblance to our beloved AM4.

Pros
  • Supports 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen/Ryzen Processors with Radeon Vega Graphics and 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Processors with Radeon Graphics Desktop Processors for Socket AM4
Cons
  • Big and Chunky
