The first thing I want to say is that this notebook is not at a good price; The asking price is too high for what the product has to offer. That's not to say it's a bad laptop, just that there are better options for the money. The listing also has some misinformation, most notably the mention of "HD touchscreen," but this laptop doesn't have a touchscreen. It also says it comes with Windows 10 Home, which is technically correct, but it comes with S mode enabled. S mode matters if this is passed down to a child who may be vulnerable to viruses, as this mode prevents executables (applications) from running outside of the Windows Store. The good news is that you can turn this off, but you'll need to sign in with a Microsoft account. You can't go back to S mode either. To make this change, open Settings and go to Activation and then click Go to Store. Given that this laptop is a budget laptop and is probably aimed at non-tech savvy users who just want the device to work or learn. (with optional light games) the review won't be too technical and I'll try to explain things in a way that everyone can understand without spitting out a bunch of numbers or technical terms. DISPLAY: Let's start with the display itself, it's not very good. Viewing angles are poor, meaning if you look at it from an angle rather than straight on, the image starts to blur and becomes harder to discern. The screen resolution is also a bewildering 1366 x 768, which falls short of the 1080p standard that most screens are designed for. This means some websites won't scale properly on the display and the picture won't be as sharp as it would be on a 1080p screen. The good news is that the bezels or bezels are thin around the screen itself, which looks nice and opens up more of the screen. KEYBOARD: The keyboard is comfortable to type on. You should have no problem writing school essays or work reports on the subject: key travel (the distance keys are pressed before registering input, which helps people who type to "feel" when input is activated, to make typing easier) is fair, but if you want to write a novel I recommend another laptop with a more mechanical feel. Also, there's no backlight in particular (when the keys light up so you can see the keyboard in the dark), which is a huge disappointment. PORTS: Available ports: (Right side = SD storage, optional wired headphone jack) // (Left side = HDMI output (so you can connect your laptop to another monitor or TV with HDMI, which will then display your laptop's screen to that one Monitor or TV), one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0. The difference between 3.0 and 2.0 is the data transfer speed. If you connect a flash drive, make sure you use a 3.0 slot. 3.0 by looking at the picture I've posted CPU: The processor used in this laptop is slightly inferior to Intel's last comparable variant, the 10th gen Mobile i3, but it's also cheaper, which again explains why I don't think this laptop is a great one for me Value has it costs a maximum of $300, but they charge over $400 for it in some cases and a large amount of RAM and storage, but that doesn't mean it's is a bad processor. It's pretty good for what it really is. If 1080p is what you expect most from this video (although this laptop doesn't hit 1080p), the processor is more than capable of handling it. MEMORY: 4 GB RAM soldered. to the motherboard, which should actually be the bare minimum of a Windows 10 laptop, since it's soldered you can't replace it with anything else, but the good news is that the motherboard has a free slot for adding your own RAM. If you want to go down this route, which I suggest you do, you'll want to buy: you can upgrade to 8GB (12 total - although I only recommend an extra 4GB stick for normal use) DDR4-2400MHz 1.2v gear up. If you look at a list of "laptop RAM" make sure it meets these specifications. Accessing the memory banks is easy, even if you're not tech savvy, I'll just explain how to do it safely: 1) Turn off the laptop completely. 2) Use a small screwdriver to remove all the screws under the laptop (don't lose them). 3) Pick up your fingers near the hinges and slowly and carefully pry open the back of the case. I was very careful and still broke a few tabs because it's very cheaply made, but don't worry if you do - the tabs won't do much anyway. 4) After the back cover is removed, insert RAM into the slot, reinstall the case and replace the screws. Finally, ensure the case is sealed on all edges by squeezing until it snaps into place. .STORAGE: The included 128GB SSD is in NVME form, which simply means that if you want to replace the storage (can't add it as there's only one storage slot), you can do so with a larger NVME drive can do. To replace this, see the RAM replacement steps above and also follow the software migration guide included in the NVME package to transfer the OS and your files to the new drive. TOUCHPANE: The touchpad is pretty good. It's fairly responsive and responds well to touch with a few gestures, e.g. B. with two fingers to scroll up and down on web pages. WEBCAM: The webcam is terrible. At least a 480p resolution at 30 fps is sufficient for this. If you don't know what that means, just understand that it's way below average. Luckily, there's a privacy shutter that blocks your webcam, preventing some malicious ads and intruders from opening your camera to see you when you're using your laptop. WEIGHT: The laptop itself is too heavy for what it is. It's almost 5 pounds. Other companies can shave almost a pound off the weight of a similarly sized laptop. CHASSIS: The body of the laptop is made entirely of plastic. It flexes incredibly easily, meaning the plastic will flex if you push it down with some force. The panel also folds easily, which is to be expected from a laptop in this price range. GAMES: This laptop is capable of playing light games. I didn't go too deep into testing but I set Minecraft and low visual settings, the game ran at a constant 55 fps for the most part, the lowest was 18 fps when lots of stuff was loading. once. There is only one heatpipe on the mainboard, so it is not designed for cooling. The laptop gets very hot when you use it for heavy tasks like light gaming. RESOURCES FROM THE BATTERY: The battery is decent. It could have been bigger given the laptop has enough room for it, but it was a cost-saving solution. However, when I ran this laptop at 80% brightness during my testing and used Windows 10's "Best Performance" for power delivery, I was able to get about 6 hours of YouTube playback at 100% before it forced itself to sleep . to prevent it from shutting down completely. SPEAKERS: The speakers are surprisingly decent. You don't have to use headphones with this one. Other laptops I've tested that were more expensive than this one had inferior speakers, so that's a plus. If you decide to buy this laptop, here's what you should know: but don't connect it to the internet until you get to your desktop, or you'll need to create a Microsoft account. If you want to do it, do it, but I would avoid it. However, if you want to disable S mode, you'll still need it, so weigh your options here. . Apps actually installed were a drive, some Lenovo apps and Office 365. I removed 365 because I don't need it but keep it if needed, I think they will give you a free trial. + When you get to the desktop, click the Start menu and type update, click Check for updates. Click on "Advanced options" and check the first option "Get updates for other MS products when I update Windows". Click the back arrow, click Check for updates and continue installing updates until there are no more. What is that.
