Justified by what they have. And they've even tried to make them a little better by adding a C-clip to the camera mount screw. Good idea, but doesn't work off-road. The clips stick when screwed into the camera and usually pop out. Maybe they use them for packaging and need to be removed? Anyway, one small, slightly odd thing that doesn't really matter. The wood threads could be a bit more aggressive, but they do the job.
