I just installed it 2 days ago so can't give a long term estimate. Very easy to install in my CD player so I bought this kit. My CD player still works and I can access or view most of the controls. With his installed and mobile phone, he is right on the dashboard level. I can reach for my phone to respond with a touch, and I never have to look down and take my eyes off the road. It's great for using maps. Easily adjustable up and down and side to side. If I have any concerns later I will check again. I have a feeling this company will endorse their product. My wallet hasn't arrived yet so my new phone can see how it fits. It currently holds my phone with a case and a socket. I want this manufacturer to come out with different options for today's big phones. Deeper and taller handles and lower legs for taller and deeper suitcases. I have alternate cases, but I rarely switch wallet cases that I like. Considering it can barely hold up with a pop socket at the moment, maybe it will work with my wallet. I'm lucky my Honda Pilot has a CD player to use this kit. I've used a vent holder like many other people, but I've found how bad heat and cold is for batteries. For the price and ease of use, the car kit is commendable.
