Review on Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W290 12 MP Digital Camera With 5X Optical Zoom And Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization (Bronze) by Michael Woods

Owned for over 2 years. most photos are useless

I've had this camera for a long time. It was bought primarily for my kids' photography, trips to zoos, aquariums, snapshots, and the like. Did I have to replace my previous 2002 Canon? Camera because I dropped it and broke the LCD screen. I'm not a professional in the truest sense of the word. However, I know good photos when I see them, and I haven't seen them in a long time. Just for comparison, my old camera just returned from St Lucia with over 500 quick shots that are stunning even from a helicopter! With this Sony most of my photos are blurry, reddish, double vision, macros appear on landscape shots, flash photos are blurry or she doesn't use the flash when she needs it. It focuses on weird things like trash cans rather than people's faces, it takes FOREVER to process, even with an updated map. I can look back and count maybe 100's of the thousands who would be worth saving if it weren't for my priceless growing baby faces. I really feel cheated. I've searched the web a few times and did a factory reset/professional cleaning etc. I have read the entire user manual. Just a few days ago I was comparing my photos of the same scene to my dad's Canon Powershot? and his photos were AMAZING compared to mine. Selling these now before I miss any more memories. My husband has a smaller version of this Sony and even his photos are better than mine.
