w-290 bought as a gift to his wife. I'm tired of her using my camera. I'm a Sony fan, I own at least 15 Sony products. From day one, the lens cover/shutter opens and closes slowly or doesn't close at all. Unacceptable for a Sony product. It looks like the spring is weak or something. As with all Sony cameras, the image quality is excellent. software is awesome. After a week of this issue it is now being repaired/replaced. I could get it from a cheaper camera.

This is a truly amazing product. It takes great pictures and the camera has some useful features that are very easy to use. What I like best is the "Smiley Button" function. Press the smiley button and let the camera work. The camera takes a photo when someone smiles in the frame. You don't have to worry if you took the photo at the right moment. The camera also records 720P HD videos. The only feature missing is zoom in video mode. Overall I love this camera.

I bought this camera over 2 years ago and have just taken over 10,000 photos. I set it to Auto at first, and this camera delivers excellent image quality on almost every shot. While other cameras tend to produce significant blur when the subject is moving at all, this CyberShot almost always delivers a sharp image, avoiding dropped frames and frustration when trying to capture a young child's action!
