Used this to repair DTC 2144 on a 2006 Mazda 6

. Our Mazda 6 (2006 3.0L v6) threw out engine code p2144. I narrowed the problem down to three components and since it was only a $15 part (the other EGR component was only $195 at the dealer and the EGR valve was $120 on Amazon), I decided to dare and replace it. This part, new from Mazda, cost $140. It literally snaps into place and replacing this part on a Mazda takes about 5 minutes. Note that the dimensions and fit of the part were identical to the factory magnet. I replaced it, cleared the code and it's been 3 weeks since then. The code was not returned. Didn't have time to dyno test the old vacuum solenoid, but I assume it was the problem. I checked the vacuum lines and electrical connector but they were in good condition so I ruled them out. (Vacuum lines and fittings are major issues with engine code 2144). Anyway, so far so good. For $15 it was worth trying this solution.
