Review on ๐Ÿ”ง RIDGID 50313 Ergonomic Portable 4 Gallon by Ross Decoteau

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Recommended for vacuums and floor machines

Compared to Vacmaster Beast 5 gal / 5.5 hp Durability is not rated here as I just bought and compared them. My use is wide: - office copier, printer and upholstered chair; everyone collects dust weekly - Small office workshop (produces a small amount of drills and other garbage weekly) - Personal car (not just carpets, but seats, console and dashboard), but no "contract" volume) - Tennis ball machine, collects dust , sand, leaves and ball fluff. Hard-to-reach nooks and crannies - household cleaning. My Dyson lacks the suction power to clean the hose. I also bought a Ridgid Car Detailing Kit. Vacmaster. If you need POWERFUL suction, get the Vacmaster; "The Beast" is correct. The YouTube reviews showing Beast outperforming car washes are absolutely spot on. But SUCH powerful suction scratches leather seats, plastic car interiors and office equipment. ; 2 clamps do not seal reliably. Vacmaster needs to improve the production process. The hose connections to the Ridgid auto parts kit are awkward. RidgidEverything seems well designed except there is no legal hose holder. The hole in the handle is only for parking the nozzle when idle. A Ridgid rep stated that you "wrap" the hose "around the handle" like string, but it's a very thin support (for the hose). There's a reason none of the marketing photos show the device with the hose attached (form over function). The Vacmaster has hose hooks that are functional but not so pretty. The vacuum performance is great. Not "Schwarzenegger", but still sporty. YouTube Car Detailer, which recommends Ridgid, warns that even Rigid's suction power is enough to scratch leather and scratch console plastics, and urges caution. And it was this logic that made me return Vacmaster; for many applications there is such a thing as "sucking too much". I love the combination of powerful suction and a compact tub. And I have no idea why people are messing around with Dustbusters, especially when they cost 3/4 of what this unit costs; Do you think they look good in camp? Highly recommended for users with a variety of applications.

Pros
  • Vacuums and floor machines
Cons
  • Shorter cord than others
