My expectations for this product were so low. (Let's face it. Do any of us have high hopes for products from companies that are just random strings of letters we've never heard of?) First, know what you're buying. This dongle is used to connect HDMI** TO** VGA (monitor connector) to a computer or in my case a projector. This adapter will not work in reverse to send a signal from VGA (monitor port) to HDMI. I'm not sure why many of these adapters require an additional USB port. This worked flawlessly with no heat or any picture or sound issues. I use it to watch movies on an old projector and it's compatible with my laptop, Revain flash drive and Chromecast device. Even the audio cable was of decent quality. Not outstanding quality, but it was better than the cable that came with my expensive bluetooth speaker. I tried them both and the one that came with this key had a less buzzy sound. The hum was noticeable even when playing a movie with my other cable. With the included cable, the buzz from the movie sound was imperceptible unless you actually listened to it. As for the build. It's plastic and lightweight. Obviously the links are metal but they appear solid. It wobbles a bit when connected to a projector, but that's common with all types of VGA. But the USB end is really tight. I see it weakening or getting damaged over time as it frequently bumps into one without that extra USB cable. this one does the job. You can not ask for more.
