This player plays everything and can easily be disabled by region with a few button presses (do a quick Google search and you'll find it). The front is mirrored so it looks cool when it's on and the display appears behind the mirror. In addition, it is very thin. However, I bought it for the width - if you look at the dimensions you can see that the width is significantly less than a standard 17" or 18" wide component. I needed it to be as narrow as possible to fit on a plant stand under a wall mounted flat screen. This one fits the bill and is a good little player. The only thing it lacks is a USB port on the front to play movie files directly from a memory card. Philips makes these players, but they were too big for me.
