The fit is great, the sleeves stay up during strenuous exercise and sweating in the hot sun, and while i wouldn't consider them "cooling", they are not as hot as wearing a long-sleeved UV shirt. I'm not sure how well they protect me from the sun except judging from less tanning while wearing them. After the first time, I realized I needed to pull them up pretty close to my armpits in order for them to stay up for the 3-4 hours of exercise. I handwash and line-dry them, and they have retained their shape, no pilling or unraveling. They dry very quickly so they are ready to use the next day. I bought my second pair in a lighter color to further deflect absorbing the heat.
