I bought this for my 1 gallon aquarium and before I knew it the water in the tank was 83 degrees and rising and my poor beta was dead :( I wouldn't recommend, Buying this unless you have over 3 gallons Definitely not for small aquariums unless you are going to be adding cooler water every other day or turning off the heater every other day I wish I knew about that before my poor fish died.
