I have had many other Battery Tender chargers, all were overpriced, defective, poor quality or poor design, defective batteries (three batteries made) or just had general problems. I had a 90% failure rate. I decided it was time to switch providers (sorry I'm not a happy Deltran customer). I have purchased other larger CTEK fees and have been pleased with their performance. I have this little device to keep my little generator battery charged. I wanted a smart little charger that wasn't too expensive. This is a newer version of the small CTEK charger that has added additional charging steps. My device has survived several thunderstorms and a year of continuous use (always connected). I haven't tested how "splashproof" it is. In general I am satisfied with CTEK chargers. It should be noted that this charger may not charge a fully discharged or defective battery as it is too smart. If your battery is that bad, you should still replace it.
