I bought this for my mom so she can work from home. I tested at my home first and the performance was ok. When we installed it at her home (downtown San Francisco), the performance was disappointing. The download speed was around 50 kbps, although the download was 2 megabits per second, it was still unusable. But the support team was great and made adjustments quickly, and after a reboot, performance was closer to 5Mbps, which is perfectly acceptable. I've used Skyroam in the past and I prefer this one mainly because of the excellent support. However, in the same place there is about 5 Mbps roaming on T-Mobile, my own phone (Google Fi with T-Mobile) gets more than 15-20 Mbps, so there is definitely room for improvement. I'm happy with their US data plans - they're reasonably priced and "unlimited" in the sense that they slow down but don't stop if you max out your plan within a month.
