I doubt I would be interested in using this for its intended purpose as you would have to sacrifice a tow hook to do so. However, this was the only acceptable option I found for my trailer license plate. The trailer is very low to the ground and comes with a plastic light panel mount. Even moving the trailer across the yard would break the plastic mount, and there was no way I could drive anywhere without losing the license plate. I installed a fender shelf bracket and drilled a hole to attach that bracket. It wobbles a bit in the wind, but that's a weak clamp issue, not this product. It doesn't drag on the floor and I was able to set it low enough to put a load on the top rail when needed.
