I recently bought a home and wanted to upgrade my security system so I gave this device a try. Basically, the offer for 8 cameras and a 1 TB hard drive couldn't be better. I don't need wireless cameras because I think they can cause problems so I went with a wired device. And the cables are definitely a hassle, but they come with fairly long cords, which gave me a bit more freedom to do this. The DVR was also a tricky process, it works best with a wired ethernet connection so the initial setup took some time. There's a bit of managed customization that helps. But once that was done, I had no problem viewing my setup remotely via the manufacturer's app. I had a few questions and the manufacturer was really helpful, so I was happy with that. If you have the patience this is a great system for the money, it has literally all the features I wanted plus no subscription required for remote viewing and that was one of my top priorities when looking for a security system.
