Review on Sennheiser HD 660 S: Ultimate Hi-Res Open Back Headphone for Audiophiles by Eh Chit ᠌

One of the best headphones in terms of technicality / musicality / convenience. More versatile in sound than many top and pre-top headphones, like Beyerdynamic T1, Amiron Home, Sennheiser HD800, HiFiMAN HE-6, Audeze LCD-2, Fostex TH900, X00. Unlike the classic HD600 and HD650, the HD660S is free from their shortcomings: peaks in the upper mids, sluggish bass and muddiness at high frequencies. A big advantage for me is the low weight, you can spend half a day in headphones without any discomfort. Rock is excellent, vocals, live instruments, electric guitar sound excellent. Classical music is also great. Despite the moderate bass, electronics, metal, industrial sounds good - dynamic and driving. In addition to all of the above, they provide excellent positioning of sound sources, which is important in shooters. The price seems a little high, partly due to the bundled balanced cable, but I have not found alternatives with the same convenience, sound quality and versatility. I use with Fostex HP-A4BL and AT-HA22TUBE.
