Review on Sennheiser HD 660 S: Ultimate Hi-Res Open Back Headphone for Audiophiles by Sai A Nyi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

The HD 25 and FH3 sound great, but it's hard to compare to the 660s. With the 660s, I understood the term "layered" in the mouths of some audio bloggers. Country of origin - Romania. Arrived sealed. It's definitely worth buying. But focusing on numbers in device parameters is a thankless task. You need a decent source. Everything immediately falls into place. : long 3m balanced cable. I tried to replace it with a short Chinese one, which I bought for hd 25 - I suffer with 3m, especially when listening to a portable one. So what to do?! With these "ears" you will hear everything - the source, the wires, the quality of the source.

Pros
  • 1. Excellent sound. 2. Comfort. 3. Pentacon balanced cable included. (with shorter Chinese speech. M was not close by the sound quality)
Cons
  • 1. They press at the very beginning of operation. Be patient for a couple of days. 2. No matter how wild it sounds, it is NECESSARY to warm up. Immediately after switching on, I did not understand at all what I gave the money for. Literally in a couple of hours of normal music playback, low frequencies appeared, the dregs on the midrange disappeared, the headphones "sang". Although specialists from a well-known store with the word "head" recommend heating with pink noise for at least 50 hours :) 3. Demanding on the source. I naively thought that Cayin n3 Pro would shake them from the balance hole. How wrong I was! The volume is enough, the sound is kind of wadded. The ifi DAC&CAN Signature kit arrived (stationary DAC and amplifier). Here the ears sounded even without frequency correction in CAN ! True, the DAC had to be reflashed. The entire home collection of headphones instantly settled into place. Marshall Major II (not a fake) retired (handed over to be torn apart by the middle daughter), sennheiser HD 25 sounded more interesting than from the player, fiio fh3 - similarly (by the way, they sang beautifully with Cayin from the balance hole). Before getting the kit from ifi, I drove 660s from fiio A5 - they sounded much better than directly from the player. 4. Neighbors, with all their desire, cannot share with you the joy of owning these headphones. We need to think about a stationary setup with speakers :)
