175/70R13. Bought as a retirement replacement for the aging Gislaved. From the very first meters, it was evident that this rubber is significantly noisier than others; beginning at 20 km/h, a rumbling arises (not the noise of spikes, but a rumble), and it grows louder with increasing speed. The roar at 80 km/h is similar to that of a World War II-era bomber. To hear the roar of these rubber tires, watch any documentary on the Great Patriotic War and advance the speedometer to around 120 kilometers per hour. I have used Amtel and Gislaved spikes, and they are louder than this one, but they are still audible in comparison. I thought the tires would quiet down after they were broken in, but that never happened. There may be an issue with the R13, despite the fact that I heard nothing but praise for this model before deciding to purchase it. The rubber is sturdy and provides good traction on both dry and rainy roads, but it really shines when the temperature rises. It slows down considerably in ice. The few days this winter actually felt like winter made me realize how unpredictable driving in the snow had become. Even though most of the spikes and worn tread had been removed, Gislaved still maintained a firmer grip on the road. Thanks to the quarantine, I was able to switch to summer shoes in June, and I was shocked to find that all of the spikes were still in place; after all, it had been a mild winter, and winter tires aren't designed for use in the summer, so I had to do a number of emergency stops and avoid slips. It's too soon to make a decision on dependability, with only roughly 5,000 miles on the odometer. The rumble cancels out the minor benefits of this rubber, in my opinion. You shouldn't put all your faith in a Shumkov, no matter how good it is. Even while the price wasn't outrageous and nobody had particularly high hopes, the rubber fell short.
