One of the cheapest ways to get an NVMe SSD is to buy a 30mm OEM drive on Ebay for around $15. The problem is that most motherboards/laptops don't have the hardware to install 30mm SSDs (unless you have one of the newer Surface models or newer laptops like the Ideapad Gaming or the 16" inspiration). It's kind of a detour. You can rip this thing to the length you want. For example, you can tear off a piece to fit a 42mm hard drive with a 30mm SSD, like the ones from KitKat. If you're in a situation where you have a 30mm SSD and want it to fit in an 80mm slot, for example, then that's fine. However, I wouldn't use it for a cheap 128GB 30mm NVMe build as the price of this adapter pushes the overall cost beyond practicality.
