Review on RaceFace Womens Khyber Elbow Medium by Andrew Frison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Saved me from breaking my elbow. again

After breaking my elbow in a BMX race I decided it was time to buy pads. I've had some luck with RaceFace pedals (I used to ride Chesters) and loved the idea that they were designed for women, but I was skeptical of what it would actually do. Turns out the big difference is that the hole in the shoulder is slightly smaller than a male pair of elbow pads of the same size (makes sense since females don't typically have rippled biceps). Ideally they should be worn with short sleeves to allow the inside of the elbow to breathe as intended and for a closer fit. I usually wear them over a sleek long sleeve tank top, so sometimes they catch my eye if I don't put them on properly. You could theoretically wear them under a tank top, but they're pretty chunky so I'm not sure how well that would work. I had to crash test them for the first time on a cobblestone corner two days ago and they looked like nothing had happened (quite unlike my Garmin fitness tracker's screen, which is almost unreadable due to road damage).

Pros

Cons
  • Outer
