I had very old cassettes that I wanted to digitize. This product is very suitable for this. I love the fact that it's a standalone device so I don't strain my computer while recording - I just have to insert the flash drive and copy the files. I found that the "automatic" mode (which is supposed to create separate files for each track) didn't always work. To get around this, I used "manual" mode (creates one large file for the entire cartridge). Warning: since manual mode does not stop when the cassette is empty (like automatic mode does), you must manually stop recording when the cassette stops. I then take a long file and use audio editing software to separate the tracks.
