I was looking for a decorative pet gate to separate my restricted area from our golden retriever. We had a standard metal pet gate and it screamed 'ugly' for indoor use in our dining room/living room. Our large dog is trained to respect the gate, but I wanted something more decorative in our predominantly wooden decor. The space I needed for the gate was very wide (125 inches) so I had trouble finding the right gate to match the width and decor. When I found this gate I decided to get two so the entire opening would be covered when the gate was fully closed. I chose to leave one side "locked" and the other side "movable" (even if I don't want the gate to open/close). These gates work great! hold with both hands for this operation to work, but I like the way it looks and I'm happy to get through the gate (another feature I was looking for!) when I'm not using the opening /close operation want to play around with . I'm 5ft 4in and that's not a problem for me. The wood is very nice and I like the dark metal grille. Very stylish. Much better than metal dog guards! Highly recommended.
