I have a 2013 Ford Explorer. The inner contacts on the inner rubber of the keyless remote have loosened, but the programmable chip card was still working. There are many replacements to choose from and I was concerned that the replacement would be cheap. This is a good replacement for an empty one. You need to remove the programming chip and the clip that holds the battery from the old remote and install it in the new one. Blank keyless remote has no details. However, if you look at your existing remote you can see where the programmable chip and battery clip should be on the new one. Once installed it works great and I saved a lot of money doing it myself. If you went to a dealer they would just replace the entire unit and charge $255 for it. If you were to complain about the cost, even if you got a significant discount, you would be looking for a minimum of $129.
