I have long, thick hair that is difficult to curl. Velcro curlers have never worked because my hair was too heavy and didn't hold. I have no problems with these curlers. The Velcro on these curlers grabs your hair and won't let go until you're ready to pull it off. I slept in them and wore them to do housework. With all the different sizes, I can easily create volume and curl by applying to damp hair and then letting it air dry. I usually apply a mousse or light gel to my hair before curling. After removing the curlers, I have bouncy, thick hair without much effort on my part. I took off a star because the velcro can be too strong at times and the rollers are difficult to remove without breaking the style. However, I recommend them to anyone who needs extra volume with minimal effort.
