This item fits my 2010 Ford Escape tailgate. After removing the inner plastic panel of the gate, the operator was installed without any problems, only one of the cable connectors would not turn on fully. I had to work with him for 5 minutes. After driving the car for a week, one morning the latch would not work after repeatedly trying to open the latch. It worked later. And then it didn't work again. The part worked this morning. Works intermittently. I'll see if the torx screws are loose. Maybe that's why the ratchet works sporadically. I also lubricated the thread with screw lock. I'm hesitant to return the latch actuator, but I'd rather not pay the Ford dealer $135 for an OEM part after returning this item.
