This conversion cable works for me. I have an old PSU with a 4-pin square connector, but my motherboard has an 8-pin connector. I should note that after plugging in the adapter cable, my computer would not start on the first few tries. Not sure why, but I kept pressing the power button and it finally started. Now it always starts on the first try. The quality seems to be good. I took an egg off because the price is at least twice what I thought it would be, but it saved me from having to pay 10x more for a new PSU. A few centimeters more cable length would have made the installation easier, but it worked. I can recommend this adapter cable.
