Looking for a bright desk lamp that doesn't take up space AND runs on batteries because the only plug nearby is far away and the cord will be on the floor a lot. Instead of redoing sockets I was looking for a battery operated flashlight and this is a real gem. It's very bright and the movable neck makes it easy for me to control it. The battery compartment opens without tiny screws (which other products like children's toys always come loose) and I am very grateful that the battery compartment opens easily. Insert three batteries and it's ready to use. Good product.
