Expensive as it's duct tape with tube brushes holding it together. There is nothing to attach it to the tree. There was extra tape in the kit, I believe it was meant to make an extra loop in the middle but I don't know how to do that. I confess that I'm not very smart, so I bought what should have been ready. It requires very little effort, but it would be nice if there were some instructions. It came out flat but I expected that, it fluffed up easily. We're keeping it, but we're definitely not thrilled.
