Review on πŸ›οΈ Ivation EZ-Bed (Twin) Air Mattress with Frame & Rolling Case: Self-Inflating, Auto Shut-Off; Best for Guest, Travel, Vacation, Camping by John Miller

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Beautiful but prone to punctures. The supplied patches are insufficient.

I bought two of these so my grandchildren can sleep when they visit. We discontinued both for a short period on the day we received them. They were fine and we reassembled them for storage. A month later, when the children came and slept on it, towards the middle of the night, one of the beds slowly leaked and defecated. Although they appear to be very similar, these beds do not have the pressure-maintaining feature available in similar products from some other manufacturers. Therefore, even a very small leak will cause the mattress to collapse overnight and become very uncomfortable. I found the leak the next day by placing the bed on the floor, inflating it and examining it carefully. There was a small gap just behind the inflation pump. The pump has a sharp angle on the back that can easily pierce skin from the inside when folded for storage. I applied one of the patches that came with the bed and it proved totally inadequate. The material of the patch is too thin to be easily punctured again and the amount of adhesive is minimal so even with the patch correctly applied, air will still slowly escape through the adhesive and partially deflate the mattress during the second and third parts Nights. Finally, I removed the manufacturer's patch and made my own from a small square piece of old bike inner tube temporarily glued with enough Elmer's Stix-All. After the Stix-All adhesive had cured for 24 hours, the tape was removed. This fixed the leak and the bed remained inflated with very little air loss throughout the two nights of testing.
