People need common sense

we bought them for dual use. To keep my mentally retarded adult grandson away from the fridge and closets and my great-grandson of one and a half. Neither of them will try to pick locks for obvious reasons and they've been a HUGE help in reasoning. Those who expect it to scare adults will get rid of adults. They have a self-adhesive backing and are easy to tear off. Yes, it leaves glue, after all, you use glue to install them. Yes, the adhesive can be removed with elbow wax and adhesive remover. Yes, they are a great help with the little ones and those who are struggling! My great grandson is 35 pounds and hasn't plucked a single one. My grandson with special needs did. We simply peeled the adhesive off the side of the fridge and the back of the plastic part of the lock, replaced the adhesive pad and re-applied. Of course, parents should instruct the abuser NOT to do it again, otherwise there will be consequences. They are not intended to scare adults! If you want to lock your fridge or freezer, install a hinge with a slot for a lock like I did in the shed. This too could be demolished with a crowbar. If you have adults who want to loot your stuff, you might get rid of the criminals and you don't need locks.
